How do I get to the Venue?

By Road.

By Rail.

The station is on the Marylebone to Princes Risborough, Chiltern Line with links to Birmingham. The station is in the town centre so Buses* (See below) or Taxis are a must. Buses go to the Bus Station.

By Bus.

We have introduced a FREE, yes Free Bus Service from the   Railway Station to the venue in a Vintage 'RouteMaster' Greenline bus. It will leave the railway station on the hour starting at 10am with the last outward journey at 4pm. The bus will call at Castle Street, Frogmoor and Desborough Road then on to the school. The return journey will be on the half hour commencing 10.30am and then on the half hour until 4.30pm. There will be one last return at 5.10pm from the school to the station.

Normal Buses leave Wycombe bus station at regular intervals during the day. The No. 400 Carousel Bus is hourly and drops off at the sports centre. The school is then approached via the subway. Arriva Buses No.2 - 328 and 329 leave at various times during the day from the bus station and drop of at Rupert Avenue. (Click here for map) From here, with the Shell garage on your left proceed to the left at the junction continuing until reaching the traffic controlled pedestrian crossing. Cross here turning left and continuing along in front of the houses. Turn right at the end and proceed about 100 yards to the school gate.

What is this I hear about a Free Bus service!

As quite a few of our attendees arrive by train at High Wycombe Station it has been agreed to lay on transport to and from the venue.

We have gained the services of a retired RouteMaster Greenline Bus privately owned by a local group. The Amersham and District Motorbus Society. www.amershammotorbussociety.co.uk

The service will commence at 10am from the Station forecourt and subsequently on the hour thereafter until 4pm.

The bus will leave the venue at 10.30am and continue at hourly intervals thereafter until 4.30pm. The last bus will leave at 5.10pm.

To assist with local support the bus will pickup from Castle Street, Oxford Road (Frogmoor) and Desborough Road (St Johns) before proceeding to the venue. The return journey will be the reverse.

Is there a Bring & Buy table?

Yes. We have again made provision for our clubs Bring & Buy table where you can purchase good second-hand model railway equipment.

We cannot be held responsible for defective locomotives and rolling stock as it is the purchaser who should ensure that the equipment works before buying. Every effort is made to ensure workability but as we are mostly selling on behalf of someone else this can become extremely difficult.

Forms are now available to download

Can I Video or take photographs?

Video and Photographs for commercial use are not permitted unless by prior arrangement with the exhibition managing executive or the layout owner prior to the show opening.

Video and Photographs for personnel use are allowed but a word with the layout owner/operator would be appreciated as continual flash photography can distract the operator and cause errors and maybe stock damage.

We are not discouraging photography but a little thought before you click is all we ask.

Can I park for Free?

If you are arriving by car the parking is only accessible when approaching the school from the M40 roundabout. Once again we have secured the services of the Explorer Scouts (formerly the Venture Scouts) who will be manning the parking facilities. In the event of the school becoming full we have made arrangements with the Girls High School for overflow parking.

Are refreshments available ?

We have supplied food for many years. In 2010 the school refurbished the kitchen and dining room. The refreshments seating area has moved to a fixed seating area.

Freshly made sandwiches are available together with Tea, coffee and soft drinks and a selection of confectionary.

We hope to continue to provide a selection of home made cakes, as these have been widely accepted.

We are indebted to our ladies, wives, and friend's of our members, who provide this excellent service throughout the day.

Are programmes available and how much are they?

With considerable persuasion we have secured many supporters who have taken advertising space in our programme. We are indebted to these sponsors who provide us with financial help to put on our show each year.

Our programme once again has been professionally printed to give the visitor a map of the halls and a description of the layouts, traders, manufacturers and supporting features.

Once again the programmes will be on sale at 50 pence per copy.

Is the show Wheelchair friendly?

We have made every effort to make Wycrail a show that is accessible to all. Most of the building is accessible to wheelchairs but due to certain restrictions 5% is not. The only place we cannot get access to wheelchairs is the stage.

To access the Main Hall and Sports Hall requires leaving via the Main Entrance and proceeding to the Main Hall via the open pathway. We have Stewards who will assist with gaining entrance to all of the halls.
